Reta M. Conner, 91, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Dietrich, Idaho, passed away Dec. 29, 2013.
Reta was born in Dietrich, Idaho Aug. 20, 1922, the daughter of Caroline and Steve Ballard.
Reta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She graduated as valedictorian from Dietrich HS in 1941 where she excelled at playing basketball.
Reta married Robert Conner in 1951. In 1962 Reta and family moved to Fallbrook, CA where she worked as a fruit packer. In 1984 Reta and Robert moved to Tucson, AZ to retire. Reta loved working in her yard, growing plants and when Christmas came she always put on a show with 1000's of Christmas lights.
Reta is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Cranney and Bonnie/Fred Warren; daughter-in-law, Shirley Conner; seven grandchildren: Lori/Chris Knickerbocker, Shad/Carey Warren, BreeAnna Powell, Rebecca Conner and Robert Conner; six great-grandchildren: Kodie/Ashleigh Farney, Autumn Knickerbocker, Shad Warren II, Kilel Knickerbocker, Cyle Warren; and three great-great-grandchildren: Orlando Knickerbocker, Valentin Knickerbocker and Garrett Farney; and her sister Esther Galloway, of Fallbrook, CA.
Reta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Conner; son, Robin Conner; grandsons, Torry Cranney and Jeff Cranney; sister, Phyllis Thorpe; brothers, Leo Ballard, Allen Ballard and Bob Ballard.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel. Burial will follow at the Shoshone Cemetery.
