Actor. His uneven facial features often led to him being cast in villainous or unsympathetic roles. Born Joseph Schlafman, he was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and following service with the United States Navy during World War II, he studied Drama at Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University). Experience as a member of several stage venues led to his television debut with an uncredited role in the series "The Honeymooners" (1955). What followed was a lengthy body of work in television on such popular series as "The Twilight Zone" (episode "The Man in the Bottle", 1960 and "To Serve Man", voice only in 1962). He played 'Galt' in a 1968 episode of the original "Star Trek" series titled "The Gamesters of Triskelion" and had the distinction of appearing in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", "Star Trek: Voyager" and "Star Trek: Enterprise". During the course of his more than fifty years in entertainment, he totaled roughly one-hundred television and film credits. Ruskin additionally served as a member and vice president of the Screen Actors Guild.
