William B. Acuff Called By Death

William B. Acuff, Phoenix resident and Salt River farmer for 41 years, died yesterday in a local hospital after an illness of several months. He was 77 years old and resided at 1823 West Jackson Street.
A native of Marion County, Tenn., he had been a valley farmer since his arrival in Arizona and until his retirement recently.
Surviving are his wife, Naomi; two sons, W.P. Acuff, Phoenix, and Carl Acuff, Douglas; four daughters, Mrs. George B. Evans, Globe; Mrs. Jack Ramsey and Mrs. Bob Roberts, both of San Diego, and Mrs. C.A. LeBass, San Fernando, Calif.; a brother, R.W. Acuff, Phoenix, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning in the A.H. McLellan Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. William R. Coleman, pastor of Central Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

William B. Acuff was a seventy Seven year old retired farmer who had been a resident of Phoenix,Arizona for forty one years at the time of his death from a malignant tumor. He was born in Marion County, Tennessee to Robert Acuff, of Tennessee, and Rebecca Rankin Acuff, of Jasper, Tennessee.
His wife Naomi was the informant on the death certificate. Mr. Acuff was buried August 2, 1937.

William B. Acuff is the son of Robert B. Acuff and his first wife, Rebecca Rankin Acuff. He has several half-siblings from his father's 2nd marriage to Phoebe Ann Matthews Acuff.
Although several census records list William's wife's name as "Mamie", his death certificate says her name is Naomi, their son Carl's birth certificate says his mother is Naomi Swope.
William's death certificate says he was born in Tennessee, but his son Carl's death certificate says William was born in Georgia, and his mother Naomi was born in Oklahoma
