Peter Noel was born in Paradise Twp., York Co., Pa. in 1756, a son of John (sometimes seen as Johannes) (~1722-~1765) and Margaret Poet Noel.

Peter married Sophia Good (B 2 Feb 1756 in Paradise Twp. - D 5 Feb 1825 in Scioto County, Ohio), and they became the parents of 13 children.

Peter was a weaver.

He removed to Hampshire Co., Va. (now W.Va.) in 1778 or earlier.

Peter sold land in York County, Pa., on 24 Feb 1779 with brothers Andrew and John.

He is found in Hampshire Co., Va. (now W.Va.) in the 1782 enumeration with his wife and three children.

In 1791 he migrated down the Ohio River by flat boat and landed at Alexandria, Scioto County, Ohio. Due to Indian raids, however, the family had to seek protection at Limestone, now Maysville, Kentucky.

After the signing of the Greenville Treaty in 1795, they returned to Scioto County in 1796 and settled at Pond Creek.

Here he operated a tavern, store and sawmill until his death in 1841.

His wife is buried at Lucas Cemetery at the County Club Golf Links. He is presumed buried there also, although there is no marker.
