She married John Norris Spidel III on Oct. 4, 1937, in Rockville. Mr. Spidel survives. Following her marriage, she lived two years in Sheridan, one year in Anderson, and moved to the Lebanon area in 1939. They lived in Lebanon since 1939.
Mrs. Spidel worked at Jones and Laughlin Steel in Lebanon from 1955 to 1965. She later worked for P.R. Mallory in Frankfort for two years and then worked at Stewart - Warner in Lebanon, retiring in 1977 when the plant closed.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed her family and took pride in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and traveling.
Mrs. Spidel was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Kirklin, and the Mechanicsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, who resides in Lebanon; one son, Don N. Spidel(deceased) and wife, Jacque, of Lebanon; one daughter, Sue Rogers and husband, Joe, of Frankfort; and seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepsister, Lou Ann Anderson; two brothers, Robert E. Neal and William Neal; a half brother, Richard K. Neal; and two stepbrothers, Malcolm Mozinga and Louis Mozinga.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Myers Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Rocky Baire officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
