White Pigeon; Glenna L. (ABBOTT) JONES, 63, 67584 Crooked Creek Road, died Jan. 8, 1991, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., following an extended illness.
She was born March 22, 1927, in Towanda Township, Ill., a daughter of Lawrence and Lilah (BUSICK) ABBOTT.
On Dec. 15, 1946, she married John Paul JONES, at the Wayne Street Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, Ind.
She graduated from Towanda high School and Wayne Beauty College, Fort Wayne. She had lived in the White Pigeon Klinger Lake area since 1949, coming from Fort Wayne, Ind., where she had lived two years. During her early life, she lived in Towanda. She had owned and operated Glenna's Beauty Salon 42 years in the White Pigeon and Klinger Lake area. She was a member of the White Pigeon United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Amos Sturgis Chapter.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. James (Karen M.) TRUCKENMILLER, Centreville; one son, Eric L. JONES, South Bend, Ind.; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Daniel TRUCKENMILLER< both of Centreville, Amy and Amanda JONES, both of Elkhart, Ind., and Carrie GRAFTON, South Bend; mother LILAH BIGGER, Bloomington, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. William (Doris B.) HAYS, Bloomington; one brother, Lawrence J. ABBOTT, White Pigeon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.
Relatives and friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Farrand Funeral Home, White Pigeon, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gerald Hagans, Constantine United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in White Pigeon Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the White Pigeon United Methodist Church or the Daughters of the American Revolution, Amos Sturgis Chapter. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Her brother Lawrence Abbott is buried in this cemetery.
