Aunt Dora was a much-loved child with special needs. She was the twin of Laura, born 13 April 1890 at the family farm in Sumner Township southwest of Turton, South Dakota. Her father died in a farm accident when she was 7 years old. She moved to the house in town that her mother built in 1909 with her mother Anna Lenz Klapperich, Laura and younger sister Sena.
Anna kept a garden and chickens at the house in town and Sena later ran a rooming house there. Dora lived there until her mother died in 1942. Then she lived with her sister Louise Mary Klapperich LaBrie who lived in Turton. She lived with her sister Sena in Minneapolis for many years. When Sena died in 1974, Dora moved to the Redfield nursing home where she lived until her death in 1983. She is buried in Turton with her parents.
