Mary Kathryn "Katy" Smith. Daughter of Raymond and Marie Smith. Mother of Patrick Smith. 2 brothers, 1 sister. Life cut short by breast cancer at age 40. Katy's maiden name was Smith and then she married a guy named Smith! I can't recall his first name; they were already divorced by the time I met Katy. I recall he was from Australia and had moved back there after the divorce. But how I used to kid her about being a Smith and then getting married and changing her name to - - - - Smith!

Katy was a wonderful friend. Katy was very intelligent and could do anything in the world with computers. At one point Katy was the administrator for a large database for the electric company where we both worked. She had a great sense of humor and would send instant messages to users with the name "Demon". Then of course, they would come to her and tell her that there were demons in their computer and they were sending them messages. She liked this joke and used it often on new users.

Katy passed away on Christmas morning, 1996. I can recall that her Mom told me that her son said that she chose the best day of the year to go to Heaven. She was buried next to her father. Later, after her Mom passed away, her Mom Marie was buried next to her.

Until we meet again, dear friend, please save me a place next to you in Heaven.
