Edward W. Burgus, 82, 2036 Gnahn. died at 11:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Memorial hospital.

He was born August 6, 1890, in Des Moines county, the son of Gustave and Emma Wiegard Burgus. He married Adele Gerdes on January 28, 1914, in Burlington. She died January 27, 1959. He was retired from the Burlington city street deptartment. and worked at Benson Lumber Company. He was a member of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving: One son, Carl, Burlington; one daughter. Mrs. Earl (Edith) Bonar, Mt. Union; two brothers, Joseph and Arthur, both of Mediapolis; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Gerling, Mediapolis. Mrs. Sam Shafer, Fairfield, Mrs. Helen Zang. Aurora, Colorado, Mrs. Alma Niehaus, Sperry; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Monday, Prugh's Chapel, Reverend Roy Satre; Aspen Grove cemetery.
