Jackie was born October 15, 1936 as the only child to predeceased John T. and Minnie Willis. She is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Vicki Norcross Johnson and husband Jerry of Rowlett, Texas; son, Steve Norcross and wife Elaine of Forney, Texas. Her pride and joy, granddaughter, Jacqueline Jamie Harris of Rowlett, Texas shared a relationship with her Nana that was one in a million.
For more than forty-four years she worked in the medical community of Shreveport beginning at Confederate Memorial Hospital and ending with twenty-one years of service to Dr. Harold Bicknell as a Certified Medical Assistant. But, her greatest passion was her church and the many friends she served while a member of Glad Tidings, Life Tabernacle, Shreveport Community Church and Open Range Fellowship. She was a mentor to the youth in Bible Quiz resulting in three National Titles and several who now serve the Lord in full-time ministry. She worked tirelessly for her Wise and Wonderful group leading bus tours and cruises, lunches and service projects. She looked forward each year to Songs of the Season and prayed without ceasing for those in need. She was tireless in her service for others and provided unconditional love to her family. She was dramatic with her story-telling, quick to laugh and able to extend forgiveness well in advance of any offense. She was a friend, mentor, mother, grandmother, wife and Christian servant. Heaven rejoices today that she is Home.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the many friends and neighbors who loved and cared for Jackie and now continue on with David. We especially extend our deepest thanks to Dr. David and Donna Cavanaugh for their endless love and compassion for our parents. Their selfless generosity through Sunday lunches and emergency room medical visits will never be forgotten. God Bless you.
So her life's work can continue, the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Wise and Wonderful activity fund at Shreveport Community Church or to the Open Range Fellowship building fund.
