She was born January 22, 1923 in Nicholson Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, daughter of John H. High and Elizabeth Honsaker High.
Suzanne always enjoyed helping others and was very active in her church. She was a member of McClellandtown Presbyterian Church where she served as past Financial Secretary, as an Elder, Choir member, and member of The Grove Class.
She was a Charter Member of the Busy Needles Knitting Club, a member of Colonel Andrew Lynn Chapter of The Daughters of The American Revolution, the Smithfield American Legion Post 278 Auxiliary, the Office Training School in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and a volunteer at the Uniontown Public Library Pennsylvania Room.
She graduated in 1941 from the former Masontown High School in Masontown, Pennsylvania, and was a retired Bridal Seamstress at the former Kaufman's Department Store in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, William G. Brown; two Sons: James W. Brown and his wife Mina of Smithfield, Pennsylvania, and Donald R. Brown and his wife Wendy of McClellandtown, Pennsylvania; three Grandchildren: Brian J. Brown of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Michelle L. Brown of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Michael C. Brown of Smithfield and his fiance, March Derryberry.
Family and Friends will be received in the H. DAVID McELROY FUNERAL HOME, 803 Main Street, McClellandtown, Pennsylvania, this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, January 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Additional visitation will be held in McClellandtown Presbyterian Church on Sunday, January 4, 2004 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the hour of Service. Pastor Rebecca Drover will officiate.
Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to a favorite local charity.
