He was born January 25, 1898 in German Township. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Arminta Darrall High.
A member of the Masontown Presbyterian Church, he was employed with U.S. Steel Company and the Pennzoil Company in Masontown for nineteen years until his retirement in 1963.
Surviving are his wife Elizabeth Honsaker High; a daughter Mrs. William Suzanne Brown of McClellandtown; and two grandchildren, James Brown and Donald Brown; a brother Fred High of Woodside.
Three sisters preceded him in death, Mary Bowie, Nellie High and Eunice Jeffries.
Friends will be received in the Grant R. Townsend Funeral Home, Masontown. after 7 p.m. today, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until Thursday at 2 p.m. the hour, of service with Rev. Robert Orr and Rev. Howard Brown officiating.
Interment will be in the Greenndale Cemetery.
