A. Marie Keefer, 99, formerly of Little Cove, PA passed away at 9:50 PM Sunday December 22, 2013, at The Shook Home, Chambersburg.
Born October 16, 1914 at Little Cove, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Louie Johnson Gordon.
Marie and her husband farmed together for more than 50 years on their farm at Little Cove.
She was a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Little Cove for 87 years. She was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the Altar Guild. She enjoyed her family, flowers, gardening and canning.
Surviving family include five daughters, Janet M. (Mrs. Gerald C.) Carbaugh, Helen L. (Mrs. Ronald E.) Bryan, Joan L. (Mrs. L. Alfred) Weller, Margaret I. (Mrs. Alan R.) Jaymes all of Mercersburg, and Jean E. (Mrs. Jay B.) Shultz of Chambersburg. Fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, William C. "Wimmie" Keefer, a son, Donald W. Keefer, Sr., grandchildren, Linda M. Carbaugh and Benjamin T. Hann, and four sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday December 27th at Mt. Zion Lutheran
Church of Little Cove with Pastor Neil E. Ray officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Viewing 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
