MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Jane R. Phenicie, 84, of 8134 Little Cove Road, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at her home.
Born May 12, 1917, in Sylvan, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Louie Johnson Gordon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Phenicie Sr., in 1981.
She was a homemaker; and assisted her husband with the family farm. She was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church of Little Cove, and a former Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Semke of Camp Hill, Pa. and Laura Putt of Chambersburg; one son, Russell E. Phenicie Jr. of Little Cove, Pa.; two sisters, Marie Keefer and Vera Keefer, both of Mercersburg; one brother, Melvin
Gordon of Mercersburg; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, John F. Phenicie; and two sisters, Thelma Winters and Ruby Helman. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg.
The Rev. Belvy C. White will officiate. Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery, Little Cove. Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday at noon. Memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Home Care Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
