Edith Josephine (Pavlik) Rudloff, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Alpine Village, Verdigre, Nebraska. Edith daughter of Rudolph J., Sr. and Otillie "Tillie" (Dobrichovsky) Pavlik, was born on September 28, 1927, at Pischelville, Nebraska.

Edith was the fifth of ten children. When Edith was 12 years old, she moved to Chicago to live with and help her great-aunt and uncle, Joseph and Emma Zdarsky. She attended Blessed Agnes Grade School and Farragut Academy High School. Edith worked at the Woolworth's store across the street from where she lived in Chicago. After 12 years, Joseph and Emma had both passed away, and Edith moved back to Verdigre, Nebraska. After returning to Verdigre, Edith worked at Marshall's Store and the Farmer's Store.
On October 4, 1956, Edith married John Rudloff at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre. Edith and John made their home on a farm west of Verdigre. The couple was blessed with seven children: Rose Elaine, Robert, Francis, Michael, David, Julie and Jane.

Edith was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, where she helped bake dozens of kolaches for Kolache Day every year until her health wouldn't allow her to do so anymore. Edith was a hard working humble soul, who always put her family and others first. You could always be assured of a wonderful meal at Edith's house; she especially loved making cookies for her grandchildren, Jordan's favorite, sugar cookies.

Edith is survived by her husband of over 57 years, John Rudloff of Verdigre, Nebraska; sons, Robert Rudloff of Norfolk, Nebraska, Francis Rudloff of Verdigre, and David Rudloff of Verdigre (Special Friend, Shelly); daughters, Rose Elaine (Mark) Jensen of Winnebago, Illinois, Julie (Matt) Freis of Elk Grove, California, and Jane (James) Brion of Corvallis, Montana; daughter-in-law, Lucy Rudloff of Creighton, Nebraska; grandchildren, Loni (Ben) Good, Jonathan (Lacey) Jensen, Lance Rudloff, Karissa Rudloff, Grant Brion, Abigail Brion, Kaitlyn Brion, and Cort Brion; great-grandchildren, Connor Good, Ian Good, Preston Good, Violet Jensen, and Andrew Jensen; brothers, Leo (Julie) Pavlik and James (Leona) Pavlik, all of Rockford, Illinois; sisters, Elaine (Charles) Johnson of West Memphis, Arkansas, and Blanche Skokan of Verdigre; brother-in-law, Laddie Horacek of Tyndall, South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Grace Pavlik of Verdigre, Carolyn Pavlik-Larsen of Creighton, Jeannie Pavlik of Norfolk, Marjorie Rudloff-Rayer of Ord, Nebraska; and a host of nieces and nephews.
