PVT CWAC - WORLD WAR II
FORT KENT AND SUN CITY WEST, ARIZONA - Jacqueline Perreault Kelley, 95, passed away December 18, 2013, after a brief hospital stay in San Antonio, Texas. She was born September 2, 1918, in Wallagrass, the daughter of Louis and Odile (Ouellette). She served in WW II in the Canadian Women's Army Corps and was stationed in England. On May 10, 1945, she married Daniel Kelley at St. Ethelbert Church in Slough, just outside London. After demobilization, they lived in Massachusetts (12 years), northern Indiana (34 years), and Arizona (22 years), before relocating last summer to Canyon Lake, Texas, to be in the care of their daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Rene Castaneda. Until as recently as 2010 they traveled cross country, from Arizona, to Alaska, and to Boston and Fort Kent to visit their far-flung family. Of all the places she traveled and lived, Jackie loved most the natural beauty and wide open spaces of the west, where her heart and spirit soared. Survived by her husband Daniel, to whom she was married for 68 years, 11 children (Geraldine, Patricia, Kathleen, Donna, Thomas, James, Joan, Dan, Theresa, Richard and Christopher); 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Among her several nieces and nephews, she will be especially missed by nieces Phyllis Perreault and Ann Cannan of Eagle Lake and Bonnie Cummings of Florida. Predeceased by three brothers (Roland, Everett and Gerald) and three sisters (Rolanda, Irene and Yvonne). Arrangements entrusted to Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, Canyon Lake, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Canyon Lake on December 30. Interment will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Colorado.
