A Newark resident for the past eight years, she was born April 2, 1923, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Axel and M. Ethel Barkman Hanson.
She was a graduate of Celoron High School, and had been employed by Kraft Foods in Dunkirk until her retirement.
Surviving are two children: Stephanie (Fred) Gibson of Marion, N.Y., and Michael Kidd of New Bern, N.C.; three grandchildren: Scott Tompsett of Kansas City, Mo., Douglas Pearson of Jamestown, and Jason Gibson of Stanley, N.Y.; five greatgrandchildren; and a twin brother, Alden Hanson of Sinclairville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Kidd, whom she married Sept. 22, 1945, and who died June 10, 1984; a daughter, Terry Kidd Tompsett; and two sons Peter and Jeffrey Kidd.
