Orin Burton, in his 70th year, succumber to a prolonged illness, Feb 20, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Burton, residing on the W. J. Barth farm, northwest of Harvard.
Deceased had passed the major years of his life in farm activities, having been born within a few miles of where he died. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Billings Burton, early day farmers of the northwest part of Chemung township.
Mr. Burton was privileged to posses a wide and favorable acquaintance. All knew and recognized him as honest and upright. He is survived by three sons, namely; Earl, at whose home he died; Roy, resident of Woodstock, and Clarence, living at Beloit, Wis. One son, Leonard, passed away six years ago. His wife preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Burton were held from the home of his son the afternoon of Feb. 22. Rev. L. Wood, English Lutheran church clergyman, Sharon, Wis., officiated. Interment was in the cemetery at East Troy, Wis. Pall bearers were Chas. Waite, Austin and John Nash, P. H. Keenan, T. B. Eaton and Rolland Hollister.
