She was born on Feb 6, 1915 in the town of Rockland, daughter of the late Adolph and Emma (Bubolz) Bratz. She married Elmer Behnke on Nov. 25, 1937 at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. She farmed with her husband in the town of Rockland her entire life. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran church in Collins.
Sylvia is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Joan Behnke of rural Reedsville, Elmer Jr. and Janice of Manitowoc; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Luella Wagner of Reedsville, Mabel and Lester Bubolz of Brillion, Ruth and Harold Panosh of Manitowoc, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Florence Bratz of Valders, and Lawrence and Sarah Bratz of Reedsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer on Aug. 7, 1976; one daughter, Doris Lemke; two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Collins with the Rev. Arnold Ruddat as officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
