Warren M. Webber, born Nov. 3, 1920, in Arrowsmith, a son of Raymond and Litta Richardson Webber, died Saturday (Dec. 14, 2013) in Peoria.

A 1942 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, he was employed in the Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C., immediately after graduation and again in 1946 after serving as an officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve for three and a half years during World War II. His naval service included teaching at the USNR Midshipmen's school he had attended and subsequent sea duty in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. He joined Commercial National Bank of Peoria in 1947, headed its trust department for many years, and retired as executive vice president of the bank in 1983.

He was a former director of the Commercial National Bank and the Arrowsmith State Bank of Arrowsmith. Among his civic and charitable activities were longtime director of The Children's Home, commissioner of the Peoria Civic Center Authority, president of Detweiller Trust, president of the Peoria Symphony Foundation, president of the former advisory board of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, director and trustee of the Peoria YMCA, director of the Tri-County River Front Action Forum and director to the Peoria Area Community Foundation.

He served on the boards of Peoria's University Club, the Creve Coeur Club and the Country Club of Peoria, and was a member of the Illinois Valley Yacht and Canoe Club. He was a member of First Federated Church of Peoria.
