Fred Dallmann, who suffered a stroke last Thursday, passed away on Monday evening. Funeral services will he held Friday afternoon at 1:45 at the St. John’s Ev. Church, Rev. G. F. Hahn officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.

The deceased was born in West Prussia November 11, 1856, thus reaching the age of seventy-seven years. He came to the United States when twenty-six years of age and settled in Minnesota. He was married in Minnesota, March 18, 1883, to Welhelmine Karow where they resided for fourteen years. They lived at Lomira for twelve years and about twenty-five years ago settled on a farm southwest of Colby. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary March 17, 1933.

Besides his wife, his departure is mourned by four sons and two daughters, namely: Wm. Dallmann, Colby; Mrs. O. H. Davis, Unity; Mrs. Wm. Dohrman, Mayville, Wisconsin; Edwin Dallmann, Lomira, Wisconsin; Ben Dallmann, Greenwood, Wisconsin; Alvin Dallmann, Greenlake, Wis. Seven children preceded him in death. Surviving brother and sisters, all in Minnesota: Gustave Dallmann, Louisburg; Mrs. Gust Hein, Odessa; Mrs. Wm. Koehler, Holloway; Mrs. Carl Prein, Bellingham. Also seventeen grand children and five great grand children.

The deceased was a kind and indulgent husband and father, of a friendly disposition and never forgot the hospitable ways of the early settlers.
