Died in New Decatur on Saturday night, Sept. 4, 1897, in the 71st year of his age, Mr. Thomas J. Graham, one of the most amiable and unselfish characters that ever lived in Lawrence County. He had been a member of the Methodist church for 55 years, and together with John L. Terry and John Little sustained and held up Bethel church for many years. He was a Mason high in the councils of the order and a Democrat after the purest type. He was loyal to his friends, devoted to his family, and true to his country.

To his bereaved family we tender our sincenere condolences and bid them dry their tears, for husband and father is safe at home beyond the Jordan.
