Laurence Welcome Walker passed away at the age of 92 at Mountain View Care Center. He was a resident of Elko for 56 years. He worked on the CB&Q and Burlington Railroads until moving to Elko in 1941. He then went to work for the Western Pacific Railroad for 28 years, retiring as an engineer in 1968. On May 19, 1942, he married Grace Irene Wakefield in Elko. She preceded him in death on Sep 21, 1979. He loved to fish. He is survived by his daughter, Judy K. Lujan, sister, Mary Jones of Lake Isabella, CA; brother, Thomas Walker of Centerville, three grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchild. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death, besides his wife Irene.
