ALT – Charles Jr., 44, of Armagh, died December 14, 2013. Born Nov. 7, 1969, in Johnstown, the son of Charles and Paula (Sutt) Alt, Sr. Preceded in death by his mother. Survived by his father; wife Mandee (Rigby) Alt; sons: Tyler, Joshua, Matthew and Jacob Alt; brothers, Robert J., married to the former Jill Plummer; James C., married to the former Heather Burgo; and sister, Angela M., wife of Dr. James McKendree, Jr. all of Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was employed by Strong Land Roofing Systems and a member of the Roofers, Water Proofers and Insulation Union Local 37, as a roofer. He was a member of the Polski Dom, CSU, and Resurrection Parish where Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Very Rev. Alan Thomas officiating. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad St. where vigil for the deceased will be held. Committal at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations should be directed to the family.

The crash happened at 1:50 a.m. on state Route 403 between the water treatment plant and the Indiana County line in West Taylor Township.
Charles Alt Jr., 44, of the Armagh area, was driving a 2000 Ford Windstar northbound when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, Cambria County Chief Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Lees said.
Alt, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:45 a.m., Lees said. He died of head and neck injuries.
