Reba Irene (Nailor) McDonald, age 83, a life-long resident of the Mechanicsburg area, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 10, 2013, at her home in New Kingstown, PA.
Reba was the daughter of Earl Andrew and Ruth Irene (Wagner) Nailor, and was married to Jasper Raymond (Mac) McDonald, Jr. for 52 years, who preceded her in death.
Reba had a variety of interests including reading, travel, and cooking. She was employed at different times over the years at Heishman's Restaurant, the Naval Ships Parts Supply Center, Book of the Month Club Distribution Center, Cumberland Valley School District, Mechanicsburg Learning Center, and St. Stephen Lutheran Church in New Kingstown. She volunteered in many capacities at St. Stephen as Council Member, Sunday School teacher, Apple Festival and Education Committee Chairwoman, Office Administration, and Custodian. She was a Girl Scout Leader and a volunteer for and lifetime member of the Cumberland Valley Appalachian Trail Management Association.
Surviving are: four daughters, Sharon McDonald and husband Bruce Henry, Barbara Delgado, Kathleen McDonald, and Nancy Gonzalez; 5 grandchildren, Kelly and Kerri McDonald, Jose and Anna Gonzalez, and Evan Kaiser; 2 great-grandchildren; a brother Nevin Nailor, Sr. and wife, Sallie.
Memorial services will be held Saturday December 21, 2013 at 3:30 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, New Kingstown, PA. Visitation and a light supper will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Reba's honor to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania. Interment will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle, PA.
