She moved to New Bedford, MA when she was 12 years old and attended schools there.
In 1927 she moved to Augusta and raised her eight children and cared for her parents and mother-in-law.
She is survived by four daughters Lorraine Allen and Angelina Magno both of Portland, ME; Rita Estabrook of Westbrook, ME: MRs Daryl (Mary) Nauroth of Mission Viejo, CA; three sons Joseph of Portland, ME; Anthony M Jr of Vassalboro, ME; Eugene of Gardiner, ME; 41 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband; a daughter Adeline Norfors who died in 1996; and a son Ventura Alves who died at birth.
