Charles Kenneth “Kenny” Hazelwood, age 70, Sugar Street, Salvisa, husband of Norma Jean Parker Hazelwood, died Thursday, September 16, 2004 at the Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born March 9, 1934 in Clark, County, he was the son of the late Thomas Hazelwood, Sr. and Sallie Lunsford Hazelwood. He was a retired farmer, a Kentucky Colonel, a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and a member of the Kirkwood Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife include: two sons, Charles and his wife Beth Hazelwood, Salvisa and Anthony and his wife Kathy Hazelwood, Mercer County; one daughter, Elizabeth and her husband Ricky Keller, Mercer County; two brothers Carl Hazelwood, Kirkwood and Howard Hazelwood, Frankfort; three sisters, Donna Gash, Susie Cinnamon, and Linda Sheperson all of Mercer County; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Hazelwood, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, September 18th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Johnny Hockersmith and Jerel Coffey. Burial will be in the Kirkwood Cemetery in Salvisa.

Pallbearers are: Steve Gash, Wayne Cinnamon, Doug Hazelwood, Perry Hazelwood, Alan Hazelwood, Brent Hazelwood, Howard L. Hazelwood, and Scott Sheperson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday and after 7:30 am Saturday at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the Kirkwood Cemetery Fund.
