Mrs. Ward was born in Union, SC, on May 20, 1927 the daughter of the late Bryson and Ollie (Moore) Alexander.
A graduate of Union High School, she retired from Milliken & Company, was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church and the Dot Crocker Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Ward was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors are a daughter, Cheryl George and husband Randy; two sons, Ronald D. Ward and wife Brenda and John L. Ward, Jr. and wife Susan all of Union; three grandchildren, Lauren Ward of Union, Rhonda Waddle and husband Ben of Simpsonville, and Denise Vanderford; and great-grandchildren, Kayla and Caleb Vanderford of Union.
Mrs. Ward was predeceased by a granddaughter, Casi Kathleen George.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2005 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Benny Green. Burial was in Union Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2005 at the funeral home.
