UPLAND, Calif. – Billy Moreland, 78, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at his home after a six-month battle with illness. He was born Aug. 2, 1935, in Tupelo to Archie and Ella Moreland. He moved to Upland, Calif., in 1977, where he owned a construction company for the past 36 years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Moreland Brodowski (John) of Greenville; one grandson, Rhett Hobart of Greenville; and Cindy's mother, Dot Anthony Brooks of Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Dewey Moreland; three sisters, Nell Henderson, Zell Couch and Bonnie Harrison.

Visitation will from1 p.m. to the service at 2 p.m.
