Mrs. Abigail J. Field died of apoplexy last night at her home on the town line road, aged 75 years. She. had long been an invalid. Mrs. Field was a daughter of Nat and Cynthia Spafford of the town of Byron, deceased, and she was born June 11, 1829. She was married to Charles Field, Nov 20, 1849, and began housekeeping on the farm where she died. Mr. Field died on November 14, 1890. On November 5, 1865, Mrs. Field united with the Congregational church in this village, and while in health was regular in her attendance on its services, the Sunday school and the meetings of the Ladies' Missionary Society. She was always ready to respond to the call for help in church work. Of an amiable disposition, gentle in manner and speech, she made friends of all with whom she was associated and her loss will be widely felt. Their survive two daughters Mrs George W. Sackett, who occupies the homestead, and Mrs. Henry A Arnold of Le Roy.
