A Patriot of the Revolution.
My 4th Great Grandfather.

This Jabez Cary is the second of three direct generations of Jabez Cary's referenced in the book; "John Cary the Plymouth Pilgrim" by Seth Cary 1911.

After the War; with his wife Martha and all their children they left Connecticut and moved to the Mohawk Valley in Oneida County N.Y.

But first they stopped in Plainfield N.H. for a period of 6 to 8 years where he and his oldest son Jabez (1760-1842) are recorded in the 1790 federal census.

His second son William Bela (1764-1827) married while in N.H and fathered a son named John in 1788.

The family finally arrived in *Deerfield, Oneida county, N.Y. in the early 1790's. However there are no records of this Jabez or his wife Martha(Gilbert)Cary deaths or where they were buried.

It is believed that this Jabez (1727-1790) passed away in Plainfield N.H. and is buried there. It is also believed that Martha completed the journey to the Mohawk Valley?

*The area of Deerfield where they settled was renamed Marcy in 1832.

The land they settled on the Mohawk River was named Carys/Careys corners.

Sec.46, Pages 95&96 connects the 2 sons to this Jabez.
