He was born January 28, 1987, in Springfield, the son of Donald L. II and Sally Mae Hurtte Burton. He completed his sophomore year at Hillsboro High School. He participated in varsity football, wrestling and weight-lifting. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro.
Surviving are his parents; sisters: Sarah Burton of Columbia, MO, and Amanda Burton of Hillsboro; and grandparents: Donald L. Burton and Delores Hurtte, both of Taylorville. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Marilyn Burton and Frank Hurtte.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, in Hillsboro High School gymnasium, with Pastor Brian Atkins officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 4, in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, in the Hillsboro High School gymnasium. Roarick-Davis Memorial Home, Pawnee, is in charge of arrangements.
