Amos Ray Pemberton, a native of Vidette, AR, and a resident of Bayou La Batre, AL, died in a local hospital surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the age of 88. He is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Jo Hamrick Pemberton; parents, Dave and Artie Pemberton; daughter, Vanessa Pemberton Harrington; brother, Glen Pemberton; sisters, Johnnie Pemberton Lester and Sally Pemberton.He is survived by his daughters; Amy (Jody) Simms of Bayou La Batre and (step-daughter) Tracy (John) Anderson of Dauphin Island; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a niece, nephews, and other relatives and many friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Mr. Pemberton was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army. He attended the University of Arkansas. He was a long time District Manager of Majik Markets, Inc. He loved to play golf, enjoyed traveling, solving crossword puzzles, but mostly he loved spending time with his family. Mr. Pemberton will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be announced at a later date by the family. Arrangements by Ascension Funerals & Cremations, Mobile, AL.
