Georganna Froetschner, 89, died November 18, 2013 at the Haven House, Haven, Ks.

Georganna was born March 17, 1924, in Hutchinson, Kansas., to George and Mary Anna (Sears) Bacon.

She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1941 and Kansas State University, School of Home Economics in 1945, after graduating Hutchinson Junior College in 1943. She married E. Glenn (Shorty) Froetschner on November 17, 1948, in Hutchinson, Kansas.

As a 55 year resident of Pawnee County she served as Home Extension Agent for 3 years and continued to be actively involved with the 4-H program both within Pawnee County as well as a Community Club leader, food and sewing Project leader and many other roles. She enjoyed judging home economics projects at the county, district and state level for 29 years. Georganna was employed with Larned State Hospital as an instructor with the vocational rehabilitation unit teaching cooking and living skills and later transferred to food service unit as an Administrative Dietitian planning meals for the hospitals patient cafeterias before retiring in March of 1989.

In retirement, she continued to enjoy cooking and sewing, painting and hand crafts, candy-making with her friends and gardening. She also enjoyed scorekeeping while Glenn bowled and also bowled on a team herself. Glenn and Georganna had a close group of friends that gathered monthly for pitch club and other activities as their families grew together. Glenn and Georganna also enjoyed many trips for Glenn’s Navy reunions and County Commissioner meetings.

Georganna was a member of the KSU Alumni club and a proud K-State Wildcat. She was a member of Ash Valley United Methodist Church and served in many roles within the church and for the community. She was actively involved with Larned Garden Club playing a large part in planning and rebirth of the memorial rose garden in Schneck Park.

She leaves behind many friends and family that have lots of stories of not only her loving and caring ways, but also memories of her engaging smile and witty personality.

She is survived by her daughter, Verlayne Warner of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Lynn Froetschner of Phoenix, AZ; Jerod Froetschner of Northampton, PA.; Trenton Warner of Kansas City Mo; Morgan Warner of Olathe, KS, and sister, Virginia Brawner of Haven, KS.

Georganna was preceded in death by her husband E. Glenn, daughter, Mary K. (Froetschner) Babb; son, Phillip Froetschner; son, Morris B. Froetschner.

Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
