Born July 15, 1925, in Gastonia, NC, he was the son of the late James Howard and Lillie (Maynor) Reynolds. He was a wonderful husband, father, step-father and loving Papa.
After twenty-five years of service, Mr. Reynolds retired as Chief of Police of Cowpens. He was a member of the International Chief of Police and Westside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Shirley P. Reynolds of the home; a daughter, Cathy Reynolds of Spartanburg; a son, Donald Reynolds of Waterloo, SC; a step-son, Robert Phillips; a step-daughter, Lynne Tennyson; a brother and sister, Ralph Reynolds and Margie Lattimore, both of Cowpens; four step-grandchildren, Dylan and Logan Phillips of Spartanburg and Jamie and Hunter Tennyson of Cowpens.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 23 years, Mary Louise (Parris) Reynolds and a brother, Charles "Buck" Reynolds.
Visitation was 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2005, at Westside Baptist Church, Cannons Campground Road, conducted by Pastor Lewis Jackson.
Graveside services followed at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 250 Mt. Olive Road, Cowpens.
