Billie Ruth Fant, age 79, of Newhope, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013.

She was born on April 6, 1934, at Newhope, the daughter of Archie Weaver Turner and Lucinda Aylor Turner.

On January 12, 1952, she was married to Cecil Fant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her six siblings, Eunice Shaw, Elton Turner, Otenith Turner, Elveray Turner, Lois Blackwood and Bobby Turner.

She was a member of the Daisy Freewill Baptist Church and a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her but she will live on forever in each of their hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil Fant of Newhope; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Brenda Fant of Newhope; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Lee L. Cook and Kelly and Robbie Miller, all of Dierks; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Young of DeQueen; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, December 8, 2013, in the Daisy Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin Jewell officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Pierre Davis, Tony Davis, David Sirmon, Simon Mack, Josh Collins and James Owens.
