Elizabeth Sandusky [many have listed her as Elizabeth Hudson Sandusky, but this is probably incorrect], was the daughter of Nancy Sandusky Allen Coleman née Lillard [FAG Memorial #72665148] and her first husband James Sandusky [c. 1771-c. 1805]. She was married twice. Her first husband was William B. Atkinson, the son of William Nathaniel "Anuel" Atkinson and Elizabeth Atkinson née Prince, whom she married about 1820in Tennessee. They migrated to Missouri from Giles County, Tennessee about 1844, settling in that part of Greene County that later became Webster County. After William B. Atkinson's death [his death date and burial location are not certain], she married George Washington Miller in the early 1860s. It is not known where they married. Like many of her Greene County neighbors, she fled her home in mid-1861, because of the large Southern Army presence in the area. This was before the Battle of Wilson's Creek in November, when she was in her 60's. It is known that she fled to Leclede County, Missouri, where there was a large Union Army encampment at Rolla, the railroad terminal. As they were previously neighbors, it is probable they married as a result of this ordeal. Though her death date is not known, she was still living on 22 Aug. 1870 near Sand Springs as indicated by the Webster County, Missouri census of that year. Her twin brother John Heath Adkinson [FAG Memorial #6184876], married William B. Atkinson's sister, Celia Elizabeth [FAG Memorial #38789924].
