Royal R. Bauman, 77, of Ferriday, La., formerly of Harvard, passed away Nov. 26, 2013 at Natchez Regional Hospital in Natchez, MS.
Mr. Bauman was born Nov. 18, 1936 in Harvard, IL the son of Frank and Mrya Bauman.
Royal married Irma J. Reese on Dec. 14, 1963 in Harvard. Royal loved and cherished life to the fullest. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Irma J. (Reese) Bauman; three children: Terri (Rick) Schmidt of Freeburg, Ill., Royal (Kim) Bauman Jr., of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Scott (Michelle) Bauman of Vidalia, La.; ten grandchildren: Kyle (Suzanne) Knake, Matthew (Kristen) Knake both of Smithton, Ill., Allison (Chris) Schwaegel of St. Charles, Mo., Ricky Schmidt of Millstadt, Ill., Michael (Kayla) Bauman, Michelle Bauman both of Shelbyville, Tenn., Tyler and Macie Bauman of Vidalia, James Bauman of Petersburg, Tenn., and Blake Bauman of Shelbyville, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren: Marli and Bayli of Shelbyville, Tenn.; two brothers, Harry and Ronald Bauman of Florida.
He is preceded by his parents; three sisters, Frances Walsh, Helen Hooper Weitzel and Marjory Alt; three brothers, Jim, Lawrence and Frank Bauman; three step-brothers, Dexter, Russell and Howard Barrows.
A Memorial Gathering will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner Street, Harvard. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
