Ada Katherine Gibson Leger, 76, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was a native of Church Point, Louisiana and a resident of Lake Charles. She loved her husband and children and was the matriarch of the family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Gilbert Leger; four daughters, Regina Thomas and husband, Ray, Jeanne Kessler and husband, Douglas; Angela Pitre and Mary Stevens; one son, Gilbert Leger and wife, Megan; nine grandchildren, Ashley Leger Armelin, Ray Thomas, Jr., Crystal Pitre, Megan Pitre, Ryan Thomas, Alyssa Stevens, Reginald Thomas, Mia Grace Leger, Anna Claire Leger, nine great grandchildren, Maleah Washington, Zane Deville, Caden Deville, Jaylin Diles, Kayden Omdahl, Dohnte Thomas, Danaya Thomas, Drayden Thomas and Jewel Armelin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Raymond Gibson, Sr. and Constance Rogers Gibson; four sisters, Earline Savoy, Constance Duplechain, Alice Chevis and Veronica Laday; four brothers, Charles Gibson, Patrick Gibson, Vincent Gibson and Earl Gibson, Jr.; four grandchildren, Tamika Duplechain, Stephen Duplechain, Amber Duplechain, and Keith Stevens, Jr.
Her funeral will be at 11a.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 at St. Henry Catholic Church. Reverend D.B. Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 3p.m. to 6p.m. with a vigil service at 4p.m. and a rosary will follow, visitation will resume Monday at 8a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
