Steve's H.S.graduation picture. He won the Palmer Method Award for outstanding cursive handwriting while in school.He had amazing woodworking skills early in life. Steve was very soft spoken and gentle; known for not complaining or being negative about things. He was well liked by many. This was substantiated by his commanding officer's letter to his folks after his death.

This image taken of Steve on the Island of Adak AK.,several days before his passing. This last picture and negative was sent back to his parents by his Army Pal. He was 22 YR 10 Mo. in age.

Killed at 22 Y.O. while stationed in the Aleutian Islands on Adak Island, AK. A USAAF B-25 crashed during an emergency landing after being damaged by Japanese anti aircraft fire while on a mission. Steve was on duty in the airfield's observation/radio bunker. Due to the short notice of the B-25's engine(s) failure then emergency landing, Steve was unable to evacuate prior to the crash impact (being the last man out). Most of the bomber's crew were severely burned during the accident, however all survived. Steve lived about 45 Min. post crash. He was interned on the Island being brought home after the war ended.
Steve was very popular, well liked, and never complained.He excelled at most all he attempted. Was one of three Pouchak brothers that served during WW II.
