MARTINSVILLE - Robert Wayne "Bob" Fleck, 82, Martinsville, passed away at his home at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2013, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Saturday, November 28, 1931, in Enfield, Illinois, to the late Jacob Louis and Faye (Leasure) Fleck.

Bob retired in January 1986 from Standard Oil Pipeline of Ohio, Pipeline Division, where he was a maintenance supervisor. He had worked previously as a welder's helper at Florence Stove Company in Kankakee, Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enlisted with the Illinois National Guard on November 1, 1949; was called to active duty on February 15, 1952. and was discharged on February 3, 1953.

Bob was a member of the Martinsville Kiwanis Club where he was a past president and recipient of the Kiwanian of The Year twice, the most recent in 2013.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley M. (Bradley) Fleck, whom he married on June 27, 1954; daughter, Rebecca L. Norwalk and husband Rev. Tom; son, Bradley D. Fleck and wife Martha; son, Ken Carpenter and wife Lori; sister, Thelma Barbre; grandchildren, Seth Norwalk and wife Heather, Karlin Norwalk, Caleb Fleck, Joshua Fleck, Heidi Carpenter and Brian Carpenter; great grandchildren, Mikylee, Miranda and Molly Norwalk.

Bob was also preceded in death by siblings, Kenneth, Louis, Donald, John, Paul and Thurmond Fleck and Dorthea Lovelace.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Costin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jill Howard officiating. Visitation will be at Costin Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to the funeral service.

Burial will be at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Martinsville Kiwanis Club or the Morgantown Methodist Church Trustee's Fund.
