L. A. Hanse is Dead After Long Illness
L. A. Hanse, aged 64 years, died at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the residence, 504 Oak street, after an illness of several years duration.
He was born at Augusta and came to Macon as a very small child, residing here ever since. At one time he was a prominent business man here.
He leaves three sons, Messrs. Edward C., J. C., and G. A. Hanse, and one daughter, Mrs. Mike O'Hara. He was a Confederate veteran under Capt. Henry Rose. He was at the time of his death an honorary member of the Floyd Rifles.
The funeral will take place at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Father Madden officiating. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery. The pallbearers will be Messrs. T. J. Caring, Ben L. Jones, Bridges Smith, W. D. Broadaway, F. H. Hammock and Jack Coffee.
