Lynda Ellen Brake Martin, 72, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 in Shawnee. She was born on January 12, 1941 to Thomas Edward and Minnie Ethlyn Nugent Brake in Ripley, Oklahoma.
She was raised in the Ripley/Stillwater area and attended Ripley Public Schools. Lynda lived in the Stillwater area for most of her life until moving to Shawnee where she has lived for the past 6 years.
She worked at Mercruiser for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren and she loved her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Minnie Brake and siblings, Tom Brake, Dale Brake, Kay Jackson and Vicky Ventris.
Lynda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jeff Craig of Shawnee, two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Kimberly Saunders of Perry, Oklahoma and Michael and Tonya Bozeman of Stillwater, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters, Harriett Harris, Carla Langley and Betty Emmons, three brothers, Kenneth Brake, Doyle Brake and Ralph Brake, numerous step-children and step great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at New Hope Cowboy Church in McLoud, Oklahoma with Pastor Randy Reasoner officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
