Oran George Wright, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 1, 2013 of natural causes.

Oran was born January 29, 1922 in Hinckley, Utah to George Daniel Wright and LaVerne Bennett Wright. Oran graduated from South High School, attended the University of Utah, and served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a WWII survivor.

Oran married Arline June Clements on June 22, 1945 in Los Angeles, California and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple. Arline passed away on January 10, 1971. Oran re-married Ardis Joyce Wright on February 15, 1974 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Oran was self-employed throughout his life and held many LDS Church positions and served as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple for twenty-two years.

Oran enjoyed skiing, fishing, and golf. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Survived by his wife, Joyce Wright, and her children and grandchildren; children, Sandra Cochrane (Ken); grandchildren, Randy Cochrane (Suzanne), Brandon Cochrane (Carla), and John Stirling; great-grandchildren, Candice Rigtrup, Victoria Cochrane, Ransom Cochrane, Kaylee Stirling, and Shaylee Cochrane. Preceded in death by daughter, Pamela Stirling, and her husband, Mark Schvaneveldt; and brothers and sister, Merlin Wright, Theron Wright, Monte Wright, and Nelda Staples.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. in the Parley's Third Ward Chapel, 2625 East Stringham Avenue (2295 South), Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family are encouraged to pay their respects and honor on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, East Millcreek, Utah, and at the church on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
