"Mrs. Irene J. Owens, a former resident of Walla Walla, died Tuesday morning at her home, 903 South Holly st. Private graveside services will be held at Walla Walla City cemetery Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Conger-Morris Funeral home, of Medford, is in charge.
Mrs. Owens was born Sept. 13, 1896 in Bradley county, Tenn. She had lived in Walla Walla from 1927 to 1938, then moved to Tacoma, and had lived in Medford since January. Her husband, Frederick J. Owens, died in 1928, and a son, Frederick J. Owens Jr., in 1944.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis I. Scott, Medford; a brother, Edgar A. Snyder, Walla Walla; a sister, Mrs. Clarence Steinbeck, Mt. Vernon, Wash.; and three grandchildren."
