DR. H.E. CADY DIES AT 92


Dr. H. Emilie Cady, 92, a woman pioneer in medicine and a meta-physician died early this morning, Friday, Jan. 3, 1941, after several months' illness at her home, 420 W. 119th St., New York. Dr. Cady was associated with the founders of the Unity Movement, a school of religious thought.


A practicing physician in New York for the past 50 years, Dr. Cady was born in Dryden Sept. 12, 1848, daughter of Oliver and Cornelia Phillips Cady of Dryden. She was graduated from the New York Medical College in 1871.


Her books were "Finding the Christ in Ourselves," "Lessons in Truth," which has been published in seven different languages and which is used as the main Unity textbook; "God of Present Help," and "How I Use Truth."


She is survived by three nieces, Mrs. George A. Riddell of Sheboygan, Wis., Mrs. H.W. Tetor of Elmira and Miss Carolyn Cady of Dryden, and three nephews, George H. Cady of Freeville, H.O. Cady of Los Angeles, Calif., and W.C. Moore of Sheboygan.


Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon in New York. The body will arrive in Ithaca Saturday night. Further services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Elmer Russell of Auburn, assistant pastor of the Dryden Presbyterian Church, at the Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden at 1 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Willow Glen Cemetery.
