Age 79, of Horseheads, NY, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family. Lewis was born on June 27, 1934 in Nelson, PA. He retired from Hardinge Inc. after 34 years. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia (Allen) Elliott; children, Cindy Gill, Wendy Bickham (Ron Collins), Allen (Anita) Elliott, Missy (Paul) McDonald; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters; sisters, Doris Depew and Jean Calderone; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Elliott, Bernice Dillon, Cheryl (Dick) Daniels and Mary Allen; many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends, the Butler family. Lew loved the Lord, camping, golfing, and spending time with his extended family. Family and friends are invited to call Friday, November 8th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home and again there on Saturday, November 9th, at 10 a.m. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial donation can be made to Falck Cancer Center Patient Fund.
