BLANTON rites set Wednesday
Funeral Services will be held for Thaddeus P. BLANTON, Jr., 20, Trousdale, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the WANETTE chapel. The ex-service man and Trousdale high school senior died in an Oklahoma City hospital Saturday at 3 p.m. He had been ill for about a month.
Rev. Claybron DEERING of Shawnee will officiate at the service and burial in WANETTE cemetery will be directed by Cooper’s.
BLANTON, son of the Trousdale rural carrier, served 18 months in the army, receiving his discharge in January. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are four brothers and five sisters. The brothers are Frasier BLANTON of New Orleans and Joe, Lloyd and Johnny of Trousdale. The sisters include Mrs. Georgia TERRELL of Monnet, MO, Mrs. Nadine ORR and Mrs. Lloyd WEAR, both of Oklahoma city, Mrs. Hattie HUGHES and Mrs. Evelyn BLANTON of Trousdale.
Military burial rites will be conducted by members of the Gill-Mattox American Legion post of Shawnee. Bearers will include Bennie SANDERS, Cap GARDNER, Leo ORR, Herman KERSEY, Roy McKINNEY and Jack TAYLOR.
Burial service was held 2:30 p.m. April 16, 1947 in the WANETTE chapel.
