Corine H. Waid was born on April 5, 1914, and died August 1, 2016 at St. Vincent’s East Hospital at the age of 102. She lived the majority of her life in Village Springs, AL.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Waid; daughter, Dorothy Pettis; mother, Effie Holmes; father, Oll Holmes; sisters, Pauline Larkin, Lucille McBrayer, and Carnell Webb; and brothers, Oll Holmes, Jr., Gradon Holmes, and Elvis Holmes.
Mrs. Waid is survived by her sons; Artis Waid of Village Springs, and Arthel Bobby Waid (Gwen) of Sumiton; sister, Ruth Wallace of Tarrant; brother, Sam Holmes of Snead Crossroads; her grandchildren, Kathy Cool (Terry), Brenda Taylor, Jeff Pettis, Stephen Waid (Jessica), Susan McGettigan (Dan), David Waid (Sonia), Randall Waid (Sandie); eleven great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Bro. Ron Mensinger will conduct graveside services on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Tidwell Cemetery at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Lemley Funeral Home on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM.
