He retired to Cody, Wyoming, where he worked, hunted and fished for 26 years until a major stroke changed his life. He moved to Southern Utah to be cared for by his son, but was able to live independently until the last few years. All of his life he loved art, music and always worked for excellence in whatever he did. His favorite was leading many ward choirs, which he was doing at the time of his passing. All of his children have enjoyed his love of music and a few are professional musicians. He lived a life varied, interesting and full. He was not married at the time of his death, but enjoyed his marriages to wonderful women.
